A Distinct Identity
Sigma Outreach Educational Development Initiative (SOEDI), Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose exclusive function is for charitable and educational purposes. Its objectives are to advance the ideals of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service; and to foster such programs that align with these ideals. SOEDI Inc. has a collaborative partnership with the New Haven Alumni Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Through this collaborative partnership volunteers are provided to assist with fundraising and program execution.
Today, SOEDI Inc., in partnership and collaboration with the New Haven Alumni Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. has delivered critical and impactful services and programs to the Greater New Haven Community.

Education & Academic Support

Delivered over 1500 book bags and supplies to New Haven Public Schools

Scholastic Challenge – In a spirit to drive Education we launched an Educational Jeopardy and Debate contest leveraging High Schools in the New Haven area

Spelling Bee – In a spirit to drive literacy we partnered with local elementary schools in New Haven to launch a Spelling Bee contest for 1st through 5th grades

​Delivered over $30,000 in scholarship and educational support dollars to Minority Boys matriculating to an accredited College / University.
Social Action

Feed A Family Program – SOEDI Inc. has delivered over 150 meals to families during COVID and provided Gift Cards for Christmas.

COVID Support – Provided $15,000 worth of COVID Kits to local barbershops in the Greater New Haven Community along with COVID safety information.
Mentorship
Sigma Beta Club is a Mentoring Program for young men in grades 5 through 12. During this sacred time of service and building, students are engaged in a structured mentoring program focused on social development, recreation, and leadership development.
